Funding FAQs

  • Who is eligible?

Innoweave Implementation Funding is primarily intended for organizations that have participated in an Innoweave workshop.

Organizations that are interested in the Impact and Strategic Clarity module, can also apply for support to hire an Impact coach.

  • What if I have not attended a workshop?

Organizations that demonstrate that they have clarity on both how they want to implement an approach and how a coach can help them can submit an expression of interest. Some may be invited to apply for Innoweave funding.

Funding applications are reviewed twice annually. Organizations that have not attended an Innoweave workshop can submit an Expression of Interest directly to info@innoweave.ca on May 15th or November 15th (or on the first working day following the 15th). Expressions of Interest will be reviewed by the Innoweave team; organizations will be notified within 2 weeks of the Expression of Interest deadline if they are approved to proceed to a full funding application. When submitting, please include "Expression of Interest" in the email subject line.

Forms for each module can be downloaded here:

  • What can funding be used for?

Innoweave Implementation Funding is primarily intended to be used to access external support from an Innoweave coach. In exceptional circumstances, some secondary or specialist coaching (e.g. working with an expert on a specific type of business for social enterprise coaching) and complementary supports (e.g. piloting a cloud computing tool) may be considered. The total value of the complementary support should not exceed 30% of the total value of Innoweave funding.

  • How can I connect with a coach?

A list of coaches that have self-registered for each module can be found here. These coaches have not be vetted by Innoweave. Organizations are encouraged to carefully assess fit with the coaches listed.

  • What if the coach I want to work with is not on that list?

If you want to work with someone who is not on our coaches list, they can apply to be added by filling out an Innoweave Coach Application Form

  • How do I apply for funding?

Funding applications are reviewed twice annually. Organizations that have attended an Innoweave workshop can submit funding applications up until the first working day following January 1st and July 1st. Applicants will receive a response within 4-6 weeks of these deadlines.

Develop a project plan and attach it to your online application. This should include more detailed information about your project goals and needs.

Fill out all forms in full. Do not forget to click "Submit Application" when you are done.

  • What is the maximum amount of funding?

The maximum amount of funding varies by module and can be found in the project plan for each module. Please note that value for money is an assessment criteria.

  • What are the criteria that will be used to assess applications?

A number of factors will be considered in the assessment of your application. They include:

    • Fit with module: primarily assessed based on your project plan and the articulation of your current situation, and identification of challenges and key questions.

    • Clear Goal: primarily assessed based on your project plan and the articulation of your current situation, and identification of challenges and key questions.

    • Likelihood of success in achieving goal: primarily assessed based on your project plan and the articulation of key questions, approach, timing, deliverables, and the coach you would like to work with.

    • Level of impact enhancement if successful: primarily assessed based on your project plan and the articulation of expected benefit.

    • Cost effectiveness: primarily assessed based on your budget in comparison to your expected benefits. Note: this is less about leverage/matched funding and more about high value coaching.

  • When will I hear if I'm successful?

Innoweave typically requires one month to review and approve funding. Organizations will receive a response within 4-6 weeks of the application deadline.
