Based in Victoria, BC, serving organizations in Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland
I am actively working with a group of people in the Greater Victoria area to build CI capacity in the region. I participated in the first Innoweave CI workshop as an informal coach to one of the 11 groups who participated in the workshop. I am also registered for the June 16 CI evaluation webinar. I am currently working with the Victoria Car Share Cooperative to develop an in-depth business plan for the next two to three years. Once this work is completed, I will be appointed to the car share's board to provide ongoing advise on the plan's implementation. Although never employed by non-profits, I have volunteered in various capacities with a number of different non-profit over the years. In terms of other relevant experience, I recently completed a Ph.D. that looked at sustainability transition governance. Many of the theories of change I looked at and used were based on complex systems theory (similar to CI). As part of this work, I developed an evaluation framework for assessing the strength of social innovation systems. I have also studied and published on topics related to organizational behaviour and change. In terms of coaching, in addition to the work I'm currently doing with the Victoria Car Share my most direct experience has been in managerial roles where I have overseen the work of up to 23 employees.
