Sean Geobey

Sean is currently a PhD candidate in Environment and Resource Studies at the University of Waterloo where the focus of his dissertation is social finance and its role in fostering system-level social innovation. He is also McConnell Fellow with SiG@Waterloo and the Waterloo Institute for Social Innovation and Resilience (WISIR) where has taught the social finance components of the SiG@Waterloo Graduate Diploma in Social Innovation. Sean consults on public policy, program development and research positions and has worked with a variety of organizations including the BC Ministry of Health Services, Sustainable Waterloo Region, and Venture Deli. In addition to his current studies, he also holds a BA in Economics and Political Science from Wilfrid Laurier University, an MA in Economics from Queen’s University where his thesis was on non-profit sector organizations.
